Management, with all its different definitions, is never separated from organizational behavior, no matter how evolved in its methods, techniques, structures and regulations, and for a simple reason that the objectives of management are not achieved without the human being. The most important factors that lead to the achievement of its objectives, hence the importance of this module, which was devoted to the study of the nature of organizational behavior.
There are great responsibilities that fall on the human element with regard to work within commodity and service organizations, which relate to collecting information, forecasting the future, drawing policies, identifying and correcting deviations, and other work and activities that are practiced within each organization, according to which the organization’s performance is improved and the optimal use of its material and human resources in order to continue the work organization, maintaining and achieving its goals.
Course objectives:
1- Understand the role of the human element in organizations.
2- Understand the concept of organizational behavior.
3- Distinguish between human behavior and organizational behavior.
4 - Understand the nature of the relationship between organizational behavior and other behavioral sciences.
Student Learning Outcomes (Learning Outcomes):
The study of organizational behavior aims to understand the psychological, behavioral and social dimensions of the human being as an employee or a worker, given that the person is subject to laws, instructions and norms that regulate his administrative and organizational behavior, whether he performs this work alone or as a member of the group, because understanding the positive and negative influences on employee behavior or the worker, whether those influences are from within the organization in which he works or from outside, i.e. the larger social environment to which he belongs. This understanding contributes to harnessing that knowledge and information for the benefit of work and the organization, and since organizational behavior focuses on the behaviors and interactions of the human element, which is considered the most important production element in Therefore, the success of the organization depends on the success and activation of the human element and improving its performance, and we can summarize the objectives of organizational behavior in three main objectives: it helps to explain human behavior by identifying the causes of behavior, predicting behavior, by knowing the causes of behavior, direction, control and control in Behavior by influencing the etiology.
